Job summary

Fairwinds Credit Union in Orlando, FL seeks an IT Desktop Technician Intern to support the IT Services team. This 20-hour-per-week, in-office internship provides hands-on desktop and end-user support as you learn how enterprise IT teams operate.

Starting January 11, 2026, compensation is $15 per hour with flexible schedules to accommodate your school commitments. You'll gain experience with imaging devices, setup, troubleshooting, onboarding/offboarding, and documenting knowledge base articles.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program related to IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and common applications.
• Interest in hardware, troubleshooting, and customer support.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic desktop and end-user support under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.
• Assist with setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing and collecting equipment.
• Assist with ticket documentation and tracking in an IT service management system.
• Help maintain IT inventory and asset records.
• Shadow IT team members to learn troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
• Contribute to basic documentation and knowledge base updates.
