Job summary

AgCredit in Fostoria, OH is offering an Intern – Internal Audit position for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on exposure to internal audit projects, accounting and reporting within the Farm Credit System.

You'll use Excel, Word, Access and SSRS, shadow Audit and Risk Management team members, and contribute to tasks while attending orientation and trainings. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm; travel reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• At least one year of post-secondary education pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in business, accounting, finance, HR or management.
• Reside in one of AgCredit's counties and have an interest in agriculture.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Learn about Farm Credit System, AgCredit’s accounting, reporting, HR and training operations.
• Develop skills to execute assigned accounting, reporting, HR and training tasks using Excel, Word, Access and SSRS.
• Complete assignments within the specified timeframe and submit evaluations.
• Shadow Audit and Risk Management team members to understand audit procedures.
• Assist with risk management and special audit projects.
• Attend orientation, trainings and participate in group projects.

Internship – Internal Audit, Administrative Office, Fostoria, OH
Summer 2027 (May – August)

Develop knowledge about AgCredit, ACA and the Farm Credit System’s operations, products and services and how they relate to the agricultural community. Contribute to the successful operations of the cooperative. Comply with all AgCredit, ACA policies and procedures while maintaining regular and punctual attendance as expected of this position.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Interns are expected to:2. Learn about the Farm Credit System, AgCredit’s accounting, reporting, human resources and training administrative operations job functions.
2. 3. Develop the skills necessary to execute assigned accounting, reporting, human resources and training job responsibilities, which may include the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and other database tools.
3. 4. Complete assignments and projects both as assigned and within the specified timeframe.
4. 5. Submit a written evaluation of the internship experie nce to the Director of Human Resources during the last week of the internship.
5. 6. To accomplish the above objectives and goals, the intern will:
6. Attend the intern orientation, training programs and become familiar with other written materials. Review information packet
7. If assigned, participate in project orientation, all related calls thereafter and contribute towards achieving a positive result of the group project.
8. Review numbered memoranda relative to assignment.
9. Shadow and work closely with designated team members to: Understand various job functions
10. Gain exposure to different approaches to performing and completing assigned tasks.
11. Assist with risk management and audit special projects.
12. Utilize and enhance Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and/or SSRS reporting skills.
13. 3. Special projects as assigned.
14. Assist our audit department as needed with day-to-day needs or other p rojects as the need may arise. Projects may include but are not limited to:
15. 1. Compiling data on business processes throughout the Association
16. 2. Researching and assisting with process automation
17. 3. Assisting with internal audits in assigned areas such as financial reporting and continuous monitoring
18. 4. Offer supplemental assistance to the Risk Management team, as appropriate, when workload and intern availability align

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least one year of post-secondary education and be working toward a 2- or 4-year degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources or management.
• Reside in one of the counties serviced by AgCredit and have an interest in agriculture and/or agricultural business.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats to recognize and correct correspondence and report s.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, move easily from one project to another and be flexible in the workplace.
• Ability to travel to regional offices and locations inside and outside the association for training. Appropriate mileage and expenses are reimbursed.
• Ability to communicate effectively by openly asking questions and collaborating with team members to deepen understanding of audit procedures.
