Job summary

AgCredit offers an internship program in Fostoria, OH for Summer 2027, inviting students to explore credit analysis within a cooperative lending setting.

You will shadow Credit Analysts, participate in field visits, and help prepare benchmarking presentations while gaining hands-on experience with financial analysis and agricultural operations.

Qualifications

• At least one year of post-secondary education.
• Working toward a 2- or 4-year degree, preferably in education or business.
• Reside in one of the counties serviced by AgCredit.
• Detail-oriented, curious and willing to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the Farm Credit System, AgCredit's operations, products and services, and the primary job functions of branch positions.
• Develop the skills necessary to effectively promote AgCredit's business by understanding how to market its products and services and serve existing customers.
• Complete assignments and projects at the association and branch levels as assigned and within the specified timeframe.
• Shadow and work closely with designated Credit Analyst team member(s) to understand various job functions and gain exposure to different approaches to credit analysis.
• Assist with a team project benchmarking crop production or financial measures and present results to AgCredit members.
• Learn fundamentals of analyzing financial information and understand balance sheets and income statements.

Internship - Credit Analyst Department, Fostoria, OH Summer 2027 (May - August) Posting will close on October 15, 2026, hiring to follow

Responsibilities

• Learn about the Farm Credit System, AgCredit's operations, products and services, and the primary job functions of branch positions.
• Develop the skills necessary to effectively promote AgCredit's business by understanding how to market its products and services and serve existing customers.
• Complete assignments and projects at the association and branch levels as assigned and within the specified timeframe.
• To accomplish the above objectives and goals, the intern will:
• Attend the intern orientation, training programs and become familiar with other written materials.
• Review information packet
• If assigned, participate in project orientation, all related calls thereafter and contribute towards achieving a positive result of the group project.
• Review numbered memoranda relative to assignment.
• Shadow and work closely with designated Credit Analyst team member(s) to:
• Understand various job functions
• Gain exposure to different approaches to and types of credit analysis, including retail and commercial/capital markets.
• Assist with a team project benchmarking crop production or financial measures.
• Collaborate with Credit Analyst team members to identify targeted measures for the 2022027 benchmarking project
• Assist in compilation and processing of relevant financial information
• Work with Credit Analyst team members to develop a presentation to present the benchmarking results to AgCredit members.
• Learn fundamentals of analyzing financial information
• Understand balance sheets and income statements
• Assist with financial data entry into analysis software
• Learn key ratios and their importance in the decision process
• Participate in field visits with Credit Analysts
• Be exposed to different sizes and types of agricultural operations
• Attend community events, if applicable
• Shadow select Admin employees
• Obtain a general understanding of the administrative credit function.
• Submit a written evaluation of the internship experience to Human Resources during the last week of the internship.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least one year of post-secondary education.
