Job summary

AgCredit seeks an Intern for Internal Audit at the Administrative Office in Fostoria, OH, for Summer 2027. You will learn Farm Credit System operations, assist with accounting, HR and reporting tasks, and develop Excel/Access/SSRS skills under supervision.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with opportunities to shadow team members, complete projects and receive guidance from the Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications

• At least one year of post-secondary education and pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree in business, accounting, finance, HR or management.
• Residence in AgCredit-serviced counties and interest in agriculture or agricultural business.
• Ability to interact with a diverse group and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently under supervision and manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel to regional offices for training; mileage reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the Farm Credit System and AgCredit operations, including accounting, reporting, HR and training functions.
• Develop skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and other database tools on projects.
• Complete assignments within the specified timeframe and provide evaluations to HR.
• Assist audit and risk management teams with day-to-day needs and special projects.
• Support data collection, process improvement and internal audits in assigned areas.

Internship - Internal Audit, Administrative Office, Fostoria, OH Summer 2027 (May - August)

Responsibilities

• Learn about the Farm Credit System, AgCredit's accounting, reporting, human resources and training administrative operations job functions.
• Develop the skills necessary to execute assigned accounting, reporting, human resources and training job responsibilities, which may include the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and other database tools.
• Complete assignments and projects both as assigned and within the specified timeframe.
• Submit a written evaluation of the internship experience to the Director of Human Resources during the last week of the internship.
• Attend the intern orientation, training programs and become familiar with other written materials.
• Review information packet
• If assigned, participate in project orientation, all related calls thereafter and contribute towards achieving a positive result of the group project.
• Review numbered memoranda relative to assignment.
• Shadow and work closely with designated team members to:
• Understand various job functions
• Gain exposure to different approaches to performing and completing assigned tasks.
• Assist with risk management and audit special projects.
• Utilize and enhance Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and/or SSRS reporting skills.
• 3. Special projects as assigned.
• Assist our audit department as needed with day-to-day needs or other projects as the need may arise.
• Projects may include but are not limited to:
• Compiling data on business processes throughout the Association
• Researching and assisting with process automation
• Assisting with internal audits in assigned areas such as financial reporting and continuous monitoring
• Offer supplemental assistance to the Risk Management team, as appropriate, when workload and intern availability align

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• At least one year of post-secondary education and be working toward a 2- or 4-year degree in business, accounting, finance, human resources or management.
• Reside in one of the counties serviced by AgCredit and have an interest in agriculture and/or agricultural business.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats to recognize and correct correspondence and reports.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload, move easily from one project to another and be flexible in the workplace.
• Ability to travel to regional offices and locations inside and outside the association for training. Appropriate mileage and expenses are reimbursed.
• Ability to communicate effectively by openly asking questions and collaborating with team members to deepen understanding of audit procedures.

Internship Experience

• Exposure to the organization, the Farm Credit System and agricultural lending.
