Job summary

Texas A&M International University, Office Of Information Technology, invites applications for an Intern- Information Technology (OIT-SIS). This student worker position supports the daily functions of the SIS group and requires on-campus, face-to-face interaction in Laredo, TX.

You will assist with SIS data extraction, reporting, and analytic tasks, while ensuring compliance with TAMU System policies and security standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 undergraduate credits or 3 graduate credits).
• Maintain required GPA per SAPP policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reports from the Student Information System (SIS).
• Ensure compliance with TAMU System policies and regulations, PCI, FERPA, HIPAA, copyright laws, TAC 202.
• Provide local program support for SQL student database applications.

Job Summary

Assist the Office of Information Technology with the daily functions of the Student Information Services group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain reports based on data from the Student Information System (SIS).
• Responsible for ensuring that areas of the University’s information systems and services are in compliance with Texas A&M International University rules and standard administrative procedures, as well as with The Texas A&M University System policies and regulations, PCI security standards, and/or other applicable standards such as FERPA, HIPAA, copyright laws, and the State of Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 202.
• Provide local program support for SQL student database applications.
• Prepare and modify programs to extract data from SIS.
• Provide support to University department regarding the usage and maintenance of SIS and associated data.
• Provide analytic support to department/projects/requests regarding SIS.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
• Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
• Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

Pay of Rate

$10.50/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
