Envelop Group in downtown Indianapolis offers a paid HR & Recruiting Intern role designed to mentor and provide hands-on exposure to recruiting and core HR tasks within a growing organization.

You will work with the HR team to support candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, onboarding, HRIS/ATS usage, and benefits inquiries while developing professional skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting by reviewing applications and resumes.
  • Source candidates across job boards, social platforms, referrals, schools, and other channels.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating communications.
  • Learn candidate screening and participate in recruiting activities.
  • Maintain accurate candidate information in the ATS.
  • Gain hands-on experience using iSolved and other HR tech.
  • Assist with onboarding activities and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintain employee records in the HRIS and respond to routine questions.
  • Support HR reporting, documentation, and compliance tasks.
  • Contribute to HR projects to improve processes and candidate experience.

Job description

We work with contractors, building owners, and consulting engineers to provide all the technologies needed for the most advanced, efficient, and secure operation of any facility. As an employee of Envelop Group, you will support all our companies.

Envelop Group's internship program offers a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and hands‑on experience designed to provide broad exposure to the human resources and recruiting functions within a growing organization. The HR & Recruiting Intern will work closely with the HR team to gain experience across both recruiting and core HR functions, while supporting day‑to‑day activities and special projects.

This is a paid internship located in downtown Indianapolis, IN, with flexible start and end dates from May to August 2027. Interns must be available to work up to 40 hours per week, for at least 10 weeks.

What you’ll do as an HR & Recruiting Intern under the guidance of experienced HR professionals:

  • Assist with the recruiting process by reviewing applications and resumes and helping identify qualified candidates.
  • Learn and assist with candidate sourcing strategies across job boards, social platforms, referrals, schools, universities, and other recruiting channels.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating communication between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Learn the fundamentals of candidate screening and participate in the recruiting process under the guidance of the HR team.
  • Maintain accurate candidate information and activity within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Gain hands‑on experience using iSolved and other recruiting and HR technology.
  • Assist with career fairs, university events, recruiting events, and other talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Support efforts to build relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools, and other potential talent sources.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork, employee file setup, and orientation preparation.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date employee records within the HRIS.
  • Support benefits administration and respond to routine employee questions under the guidance of the HR team.
  • Assist with HR reporting, documentation, and compliance‑related activities.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, training activities, and recognition programs.
  • Assist with updating HR forms, policies, and other documentation.
  • Participate in HR and recruiting projects designed to improve processes and the employee and candidate experience.
  • Gain exposure to additional HR functions, including payroll, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and employee development.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in human resources, recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Comfortable learning new technology and computer systems, including HRIS and ATS platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Professional, positive, and team‑oriented attitude.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates; no relocation or housing stipend is available for this position.
  • Must possess US work authorization and not require sponsorship for an employment visa by Envelop Group at any time in the future.
