Job summary

Energy Transfer in the United States is seeking motivated Engineering Interns for our summer program to gain hands-on experience with our energy portfolio, including natural gas pipelines and facilities across Texas.

Intern responsibilities include learning about air quality and regulatory compliance, reviewing federal, state and local environmental laws, and assisting operations and engineering teams with field visits in the West Texas region.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program with courses in chemical or mechanical engineering.
  • Must maintain at least an above-average GPA.
  • Self-motivated with involvement outside coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with Energy Transfer assets in the energy portfolio and gain experience in air quality and regulatory compliance for gas pipelines and facilities.
  • Support process simulation and system modeling, gas and fluid flow measurements, and pipe/vessel sizing calculations.
  • Assist with equipment functions, maintenance requirements, and day-to-day field operations of pipeline, storage, and terminal systems.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering staff during field visits in the West Texas region.

Position Summary

We are looking for motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Engineer for our summer program to join our team! The main objective for each intern is to become familiar with the assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in air quality and regulatory compliance for a wide range of natural gas pipelines and facilities. Responsibilities may include review of current federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations that impact natural gas gathering and transmission facilities, assessment of facility’s compliance with authorizations, interaction with operations, engineering and other environmental staff; and field visits to facilities in the west Texas region.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • The main objective for the intern is to become familiar with the assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in gathering, processing, treating, transmission storing, and export of natural gas and/or liquids.
  • Responsibilities will vary with location but may include process simulation and system modeling, gas and fluid flow measurements, pipe and vessel sizing calculations, equipment functions, and maintenance requirements, and the day to day field operations of pipeline, storage, and terminal systems.
Education And/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program majoring engineering disciplines include Chemical or Mechanical, at a minimum completion of sophomore level engineering courses.
  • General requirements include self-motivated individuals, involvement in activities outside college studies.
  • Above average GPA
