Job summary

Energy Transfer invites motivated engineering students to join our 12-week summer internship program in Midland, Texas. The internship offers exposure to air quality and regulatory compliance for natural gas pipelines and facilities, with field visits across the West Texas region.

Interns must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with expected graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028. This paid internship begins May 2027 and provides hands-on experience across operations,

• Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program majoring engineering disciplines include Chemical or Mechanical, at a minimum completion of sophomore level engineering courses.
• General requirements include self-motivated individuals, involvement in activities outside college studies.
• Above average GPA

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in gathering, processing, treating, transmission storing, and export of natural gas and/or liquids.
• Process simulation and system modeling, gas and fluid flow measurements, pipe and vessel sizing calculations, equipment functions, and maintenance requirements.
• Day to day field operations of pipeline, storage, and terminal systems.

Position Summary

We are looking for motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Engineer for our summer program to join our team!

The main objective for each intern is to become familiar with the assets in our energy portfolio, gaining experience in air quality and regulatory compliance for a wide range of natural gas pipelines and facilities.

Responsibilities may include review of current federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations that impact natural gas gathering and transmission facilities, assessment of facility's compliance with authorizations, interaction with operations, engineering and other environmental staff; and field visits to facilities in the west Texas region.

This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2027. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
