Job summary

GFT in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Construction Management Intern for a mid-May through mid-August program. You will gain hands-on experience on real client projects with guidance from experienced construction leaders.

The internship is hourly and designed to provide exposure to project observation, submittal reviews, scheduling, and documentation control, with many interns converting to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in construction-related field.
• Demonstrated interest in construction management through coursework or internships.
• Ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Interface with the project team and task managers.
• Review and update submittal status reports.
• Assist with preparing schedule reports.
• Maintain project files/documentation including logs.
• Manage online project document control system.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing construction services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced construction leaders and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full‑time employees.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Support real client projects by participating in construction observation and/or inspection of construction activities.

Education | Experience:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in construction management through applied coursework, prior internships, or other work experiences.
• Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Will require outside work in a variety of weather conditions.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $21.00 - $28.00. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
