Prairie State Generating Company offers a summer internship in its corporate Accounting/Finance environment for college students.

The program provides hands-on training, exposure to industry professionals, and a paid internship in a power generation and coal mining context.

Involvement includes monthly reconciliations, treasury support, accounts payable, controls testing, and prep of internal reports, with a 12-week commitment from late May to mid-August.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college degree program in Accounting or Finance.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Available for a 12-week program beginning in Late-May to Mid-August.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Assist with treasury functions, including weekly and monthly cash reports.
• Perform accounts payable and general accounting duties as assigned.
• Assist with the evaluation and testing of internal accounting controls.
• Assist with the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports.
• Maintain electronic/archived record of accounts payable and other accounting related records.
• Work on special accounting projects including budgeting/forecasting, Payroll, Tax, Compliance Assurance, and monthly financial closing processes.
• Provide support to the Finance team as assigned.
