Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance in Lansing, MI is seeking a web developer intern to join the Analytics Web Systems team this summer. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software for new and existing systems, with opportunities to communicate with users and management.

You will learn modern web technologies and practices, work on robust solutions, and identify process improvements while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, in-person internship setting.

Qualifications

• Must be working toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with at least two years of coursework completed.
• Understanding of object oriented and/or functional design paradigms and best practices.
• High aptitude for logical thinking and pattern recognition.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and practices to overcome existing challenges.
• Ability to adapt to constant change and innovation.
• Understanding of Web technologies based on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript such as Angular.
• Knowledge of Responsive Design (Mobile), Database Design (SQL), ASP.NET, WebAPI, Core MVC, C#, F#, C++, Automated Testing, Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Methodologies, Version Control Practices (git), or AWS or Cloud technologies is a plus.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a web developer intern to join our Analytics Web Systems team this summer. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting software applications for new and existing systems. The position requires the person to:

• Design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software programs and applications

This internship has full-time hours (Monday through Friday) and is in person in Lansing, Michigan. Interns choose their start and end dates. Most join in mid-May and stay until mid-August.
