Job summary

CSX in Detroit, MI is seeking Intermodal Service Employees (ISEs) to safely perform activities that move customer freight from origin to the Intermodal Terminal and ensure freight availability for pickup at destination terminals. The role involves four main activity areas: Securement, Yard/Lift Operations, Clerical duties, and other related tasks.

New hires complete four days of hands-on and classroom training, followed by eight months of on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Securement tasks: inspect and secure trailers, containers and intermodal equipment; assist lift operators in positioning equipment; operate IBC carts; work outdoors around moving equipment.
• Yard and Lift operations: move equipment with hostlers and lift machines; connect/move/park chassis, trailers, and containers; inspect equipment for readiness; handle airlines and landing gear.
