Job summary

NFI is seeking a Pricing Analyst in Austin, TX to act as a centralized resource for intermodal costing and pricing decisions. You will analyze pricing, maintain vendor data, and make recommendations to Sales and Operations to drive volume and revenue growth for the Intermodal segment.

You will collaborate with operations and billing teams, manage RFP processes, and continuously seek profitable routing and new modal alternatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Finance or Business preferred.
• 2-5 years’ experience.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills required.
• Proficiency with Excel; MS Access a plus.
• Detail-oriented; ability to identify all cost elements in complex RFPs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with innovative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide intermodal pricing from spot rate requests to formal RFPs.
• Manage process from receipt through submission coordinating with operations and sales.
• Work with Operations to ensure freight is routed as quoted and profitable.
• Promote Intermodal and educate Sales on modal alternatives to OTR.
• Maintain railroad and drayage vendor pricing for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Provide regular and ad hoc pricing analysis and reporting for Management and Sales.
• Engage with Operations to understand market conditions to help price levels.
• Work with Billing and AR to resolve missing rates and expirations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Analyze history and market data to identify opportunities to increase margins and grow business.
