Job summary

Swift Transportation, a recognized industry leader and the largest truckload carrier in America, seeks a driven Fleet Supervisor in Chicago to lead a team of 10+ drivers and optimize operations. You will manage driver availability, review profitability, coach drivers, ensure on-time home time, and drive payroll accuracy while building strong relationships with drivers.

Candidates should have transportation experience, leadership skills, strong communication, and proficiency in MS Office;

• Proficiency in MS Office suite and basic analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fleet of 10+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
• Routinely review profitability (P/L) for assigned area and optimize operations.
• Develop high performing drivers through coaching and positive reinforcement.
• Meet drive home time expectations by managing commitments and expectations.
• Maximize profitability for assigned tractors and trailers.
• Assign drivers to lanes that best serve company and driver.
• Foster respectful, equitable workload distribution and strong driver relationships.
• Proactively manage safety performance to control insurance and claims costs.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Conduct driver reviews according to schedule.

Schedule: Wednesday- Saturday 10am-10pm

Compensation: $24-27 depending on expereince and qualifications

Previous experience in transportation industry required.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Lead a fleet of 10+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity of their fleet. Routinely review P/L for assigned area and find ways to maximize profitability.

• Develop high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching and positive reinforcement.
• Meet drive home time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.
• Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors and trailers.
• Assign drivers to lanes that best serve both the company and the driver.
• Ensure all drivers are treated with respect and equitably distribute work (desired lanes/least desired lanes).
• Build and nurture long-lasting relationships with drivers.
• Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost as a percentage of revenue targets.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Perform driver reviews according to scheduled specified by Driver Retention.
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

• Bachelor's in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
