Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking qualified Ground Support, Hostler, Crane/Lift Operators for a full-time Intermodal Department role in Cicero, IL. Travel is minimal and training is provided, with a 8-month probation and on-call scheduling.

You will perform heavy equipment operations, assist loading/unloading on railcars and chassis, and follow strict safety rules in diverse weather. Candidates must be able to work 40 hours weekly with overtime and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Lifts/carries up to 50 lbs.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, side-loaders, forklifts, hostler trucks as part of a three-level program.
• Assist with loading/unloading on railcars and chassis.
• Ensure safety in a 40-hour per week, 24/7 operation with overtime and on-call requirements.
