Job summary

BNSF Railway in Cicero, IL seeks a Mechanic Heavy Equipment (Traveling) to maintain and repair critical machinery across multiple sites. This full-time, traveling role requires extensive travel and on-the-job and classroom training; shifts are 10 hours with overtime.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum verifiable mechanical work experience or training.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsements, or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair BNSF equipment fleet.
• Disassemble and repair roadway maintenance equipment incl. hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Operate tools and equipment for maintenance and repairs.
• Work in safety-sensitive environment under varied weather conditions.
• Participate in on-the-job and classroom training travels to training center.
