Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers, delivering hands-on and classroom training aligned with Schneider's guidelines. You will train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip planning and the use of Schneider’s tablets and workflow system, and you must live within 50 miles of Chambersburg, PA with a valid Class A CDL.

This full-time, salaried role offers competitive pay and benefits, including annual profit-sharing bonuses and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Previous instructor or training experience preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn, demonstrate and train Schneider’s company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands-on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip-planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
