Job summary

Schneider National is seeking a Driver Instructor to coach, mentor and onboard new drivers. You will train in the classroom and in the truck, focusing on safety, hours of service, trip planning and Schneider’s policies.

This role supports driver development and retention, teaches how to use Schneider’s tablet and workflow system, and provides feedback to promote a safe, rewarding career. CDL required; live within 50 miles of Chambersburg, PA.

Qualifications

• Experience training drivers is preferred.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
• Positive, professional attitude.
• Able to learn and train Schneider policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor and onboard new drivers.
• Perform hands‑on training in the classroom and in the truck.
• Train drivers on safety, hours of service, trip‑planning, workflow, tablet, policies and procedures.
• Act as a safety advocate and driver retention ambassador for the organization.
• Teach driving skills that align with Schneider’s guidelines and materials.
• Show drivers how to use Schneider’s electronic tablets and workflow system.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
• Evaluate and provide updates on candidates who are not meeting expectations.
• Prepare drivers for a safe and rewarding career at Schneider.
