Job summary

The Salem VA Medical Center seeks a Physician Anesthesiologist (Intermittent) to provide comprehensive anesthesia services for surgical patients. The role supports perioperative care, preoperative and postoperative anesthesia, and supervision of CRNAs under the Surgical Care Service Line.

Applicants must hold an MD/DO, be fully licensed in the US, have residency training in anesthesia, and be eligible for board certification.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required (with VA policy allowances)
• MD or DO degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US
• Residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Board certification or board eligibility preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia services for surgical patients
• Pre-operative and post-operative anesthesia care including hospital rounds
• Supervision of CRNAs in administration of anesthesia
• Document anesthesia services with appropriate notes
• Participate in Morbidity and Mortality conferences and on-call duties
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and continuing staff education
