Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia, is seeking an APN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide perioperative anesthesia care within Surgical Care. Responsibilities include pre-anesthesia evaluation, anesthesia administration, and post-operative management across acute medical and surgical settings.

This is a Temporary Not to Exceed 1 year position with an intermittent, day schedule.

Qualifications

• Must hold 1 full and unrestricted RN license in the US (state/territory).
• Intermittent schedule with day shifts (Mon-Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm) as service needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct anesthesia care per scope of practice.
• Perform pre-operative evaluation for surgical patients.
• Administer IV sedation and conduct regional/general anesthesia.
• Monitor patient status and ensure safety throughout perioperative care.
• Collaborate with anesthesiology team to optimize outcomes.
