The Intermediate Research Systems Analyst is responsible for Developing and modifying procedures for the expansion and improvement of UAMS’ electronic business suite (“Muse”) to solve and track complex medical business, regulatory, and research administration issues using vendor-hosted compliance software.
The analyst formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Responsibilities include project management, system design, user interfaces, budget oversight, test plan and procedure development, and implementation of best practices. The position also provides leadership and mentoring to user Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and monitors programming activities for users across campus.
The analyst is expected to work almost exclusively with the Muse and coordinate changes/updates to the implemented electronic “solutions” Grants, Agreements, Conflict of Interests (COI), Animal Operations (AOPS), IACUC, Safety, and other appropriate business systems (e.g., Workday) for the Research Administration/Compliance Offices at UAMS. This position serves as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders related to compliance, data integrity, workflows, system integrations, and enhancements. The analyst is responsible for keeping implementations on schedule and ensuring all federal, state, and UAMS compliance and data integrity needs are met. This position leads system updates and ongoing maintenance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and UAMS governing bodies.
Working closely with SMEs, the position helps develop and maintain policies and procedures that support regulatory compliance. Additionally, the position will serve on the research IT committee, sponsored programs administration committee, and other appropriate research/compliance committees.
This position will become certified and maintain certification related to all supported platforms within one year of hire.
Note: This job is a hybrid position - both on campus time (in office) and work from home.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education plus three (3) years of relevant experience in sponsored research administration, or IT-related experience in a higher education environment required.
