Job summary

JVA, an award-winning architecture studio in Chelsea, seeks a candidate with 5+ years of professional experience to assist across all project phases and lead future projects. You will work under a Senior Architect on high-end residential commissions and collaborate in a fast-paced studio in NYC.

The role requires strong 3D modeling or BIM proficiency, excellent detailing, and the ability to manage multiple projects. US work authorization is required, and residency in the NYC area is expected.

JVA is an award-winning architecture studio in the heart of Chelsea. As a small studio, you have the unique opportunity to work on all phases of projects under a Senior Architect with the goal of you leading your own projects in the future.

We focus solely on high-end, single family residential work in New York, including townhouse renovations, new ground-up homes, and large apartment renovations.

We are a tight knit group of creative problem solvers with a taste for well-crafted design and work in a collaborative team environment, pushing boundaries until a project is the best it can be.

Our projects are large and complex so this person ideally has a combination of strong 3D modeling skills, a sharp critical eye for detailing, and can work in a fast-paced studio. If this sounds like you and you currently live in the NYC area, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Assist a Senior Architect or the Principal in generating designs and presentations, construction drawings, code research and compliance, and material selection.
• Help manage schedules and coordination of clients, contractors, expeditors, consultants, city agencies and vendors.
• Assist with construction administration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience
• Experience working on all phases of a project a plus
• High level of proficiency with 3D modeling or BIM software
• You are resourceful, have the ability to work efficiently on multiple projects and keep them organized
• Strong conceptual, design and detailing skills
• NYC residential architecture experience a plus
• US work authorization required

This is a full time salaried position with fully paid individual health insurance benefit, competitive PTO, and summer fridays. Salary starts at $80,000+ and is commensurate with experience and skill set. We recognize and reward excellent performance with expanded responsibilities, growth and compensation.
