Job summary

East Carolina University is seeking an Interlibrary Loan Assistant to support Joyner's Interlibrary Loan Department in processing physical and electronic materials for ECU students, staff, faculty, and partner libraries worldwide.

Responsibilities include sorting incoming packages, preparing and shipping materials, scanning items to PDFs, and using ILLiad and other library tools. Candidates must be ECU students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be available a regular weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be current ECU student.
• GPA minimum of 2.0.
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate student workers.

Responsibilities

• Open and sort department incoming packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
• Prepare materials for patron use and package materials for shipping to other libraries.
• Pull physical items from throughout the library's collections.
• Scan books, journals, microfilm, and microfiche to create PDFs.
• Process requests using ILLiad and other library software.
• Locate articles and chapters from electronic holdings and save copies for patrons/libraries.
• Assist with other department tasks, including shelving, invoicing, and supplies.
