Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer for Interiors IP/Console to lead instrument panel design, release, and integration across the vehicle architecture. You will drive cross-functional collaboration with HVAC, electronics, and safety teams to ensure robust, compliant IP deliverables.

The role emphasizes DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and CAD management in NX/Teamcenter, while aligning with program timing and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 3–5 years of engineering experience with instrument panel design, structure, or integration.
• Knowledge of GD&T, FMVSS regulations, and airbag packaging requirements.
• Proficiency in NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks and PLM (Teamcenter).
• Experience leading suppliers and managing cross-functional deliverables.
• Strong analytical, communication, and issue-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier design reviews to ensure instrument panel systems meet specifications, performance, and safety targets.
• Develop DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, boundary diagrams, and interface matrices for IP structural integrity, fit & finish, and thermal/ergonomic requirements.
• Support integration of HVAC ducts, airbags, wiring harnesses, and infotainment components within IP.
• Manage CAD model and drawing integrity in NX and Teamcenter.
• Support physical validation, crash and safety testing, and plant builds; resolve issues through structured problem-solving.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, ergonomic, and safety standards.
• Track program deliverables and communicate progress to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Apply best practices and lessons learned from IP developments to improve quality and manufacturability.
