Job summary

Alten Technology USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer specializing in interior/exterior automotive components. You will lead design and development of exterior assemblies and work with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, mass, and timing goals.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree and 8+ years of vehicle design experience, plus knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited) required.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in interior/exterior trim.
• Knowledge of design for plastic/composite components.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with NHSTA/FMVSS exterior component standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of exterior components and assemblies.
• Manage all aspects of exterior component development to meet targets (cost, mass, timing).
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to meet project requirements.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to achieve performance targets.
