Job summary

The United States Army Reserve is seeking an interior electrician who installs and maintains the Army’s interior electrical systems. You will read blueprints, test equipment, and ensure safe, reliable power distribution in military facilities.

Training includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, with opportunities for civilian career paths and PaYS programs that assist transition to employment after Army service.

• Must meet DoD requirements.
• ASVAB Electronics (EL) 93 required.

• Read blueprints, wire plans and repair orders to determine layouts/repair.

• Repair and replace faulty wiring and lighting fixtures.

Overview

The interior electrician is primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance for all of the Army’s interior electrical systems.

• Those who want to serve must first take the ASVAB, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

Training

Job training for interior electrician requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field with on-the-job instructions, including on-the-job instruction for installation and repair.
