Job summary

NELSON is seeking an Interior Designer II to join our Civic & Justice Practice. The candidate provides design support across project phases, with strong Revit and presentation skills for courthouses, civic centers, and public safety buildings.

Ideal: 5+ years' experience, bachelor’s in Interior Design, and proven ability to work in teams on public sector projects. We value growth, collaboration, and delivering high‑quality services.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of production plans, drawings, and models.
• Familiarity with FF&E, finishes, lighting, color and materials.
• Understanding of building regulations, life safety codes, and ADA.
• Experience with sustainability and LEED guidelines.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; basic Deltek Vantagepoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings.
• Update design documents for all designer levels.
• Assist with drawings and design development across phases.
• Develop solutions following established standards.
• Participate in design charrettes and client meetings.
• Support field visits, submittals, and shop drawing reviews.
• Contribute to budget awareness and scheduling awareness.
