Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Interior Design Intern to collaborate with project teams of architects, designers and engineers on diverse projects. You will contribute to design, documentation and specification development while gaining exposure to presentations, programming and shop drawing reviews.

As an intern, you will assist in developing technical solutions, participate in construction administration, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the work in the department.
• GPA 3.0+ strongly preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active participation in campus, community or volunteer activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow in the field.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States full-time without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, construction documentation and specification development.
• Assist with client presentations, programming and shop drawing reviews.
• Support construction administration and problem-solving on technical issues.
• Provide assistance in developing design solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the team.
