Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate on requirements, and develop creative concepts reflecting personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Key responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, advising on flooring and accessories, and managing multiple projects with clear communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and leads.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with accuracy and timely follow-up; use company communication tools.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals.
• Enthusiastically support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market.
• Understand and utilize design applications i.e.; Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
