Harrell Design + Build in Mountain View, CA is seeking an Interior Designer / Interior Architect for a full-time, onsite role. You will own the client journey from concept through construction, meeting prospects, presenting design agreements, and leading projects to permit-ready plans.

With 5+ years of design and sales experience, you will guide clients on finishes and space planning, collaborating with CAD specialists and engineers. CID/CKD/CBD certifications are preferred.

AtHarrell Design + Build, we’re looking for a talentedInterior Designer / Interior Architect with strong sales acumento guide clients from initial concept through construction completion. This is a unique hybrid role where you’ll own the full client journey—design, relationship-building, and project success.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Design + Sales team, you will:

• Meet, qualify, and build relationships with prospective clients
• Present and selldesign agreements and construction contracts
• Lead projects fromconcept design - schematic design - construction documents
• Collaborate with CAD specialists and engineers to produce permit-ready plans
• Guide clients throughdesign decisions, materials, and finishes
• Develop layouts, cabinetry plans, lighting/electrical plans, and space planning solutions
• Attend key on-site meetings (electrical walkthroughs, tile layout, etc.)
• Support projects through construction to ensure design intent is executed
• Participate in marketing events and proactively generate new client leads

Projects range fromkitchens and bathrooms to full home remodels and additions

What Makes You Successful in This Role

We’re looking for someone who is bothdesign-driven and results-oriented:

• 5+ years of proven design & sales experience(with varied project sizes and clientele)
• Strongspace planning and design skillsacross residential interiors

Ability to confidently select:

• Plumbing fixtures
• Cabinetry
• Lighting & electrical layouts
• Finishes (tile, flooring, color palettes)
• Experience withDesign + Build project delivery(highly preferred)

Proficiency in:

• Chief Architect (preferred)
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability tosketch, visualize, and communicate ideas quickly
• Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects
• Strong interpersonal skills—comfortable working with a wide range of clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Interior Designer (CID)
• NKBA Certification (CKD or CBD)
• ASID affiliation
• Bachelor’s degree or Design Certificate
• Knowledge ofGreen Buildingand/orUniversal Design
