Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering company delivering advanced vehicle solutions, seeks an Interior Alerts Design and Release Engineer (DRE). You will lead design, development, and engineering release of QVPM, horns, and external speakers for production vehicles, spanning concept to production with lifecycle ownership.

You will collaborate with EE systems, manage DFMEA and DVP&R documentation, and drive supplier design efforts while coordinating on-site regional support for interior alerting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum 3 years of automotive engineering experience.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in mechatronic component design, release processes, and vehicle integration.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, TeamCenter Vis, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
• Experience with engineering project management on global platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee component/system design from concept through launch, including FMEA, CAE analysis, packaging, model/drawing integrity, validation, BOM management, and change management.
• Direct supplier design efforts and participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Ensure all systems meet quality, performance, cost, and timing objectives.
• Partner with the advanced engineering team to develop, define, and package designs prior to sourcing.
• Act as the regional on-site support for interior alerting components.
• Develop and maintain boundary diagrams, interface matrices, parameter diagrams, DFMEA, and DVP&R documentation.
• Support system integration with surrounding components, ECUs, and vehicle network communications.
• Conduct benchmarking, competitive analysis, and research on emerging technologies.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.
• Review and approve software and hardware releases, including validation reports (CVVRs, DVP&Rs).
• Report development status regularly through presentations, issue tracking, and project timelines.
