Job summary

ALTEN Mexico is seeking an Interiors D&R Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, timing, and production release of seat components and systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate interior designs and successful releases for Seats components.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, proficiency in CATIA V5/3DX or NX, and strong knowledge of PLM (Teamcenter) and DFM principles. English communication at an intermediate-advanced level is expected.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive seat components.
• Experience on complete seats, trim covers, foams, headrests and armrests.
• Materials knowledge (foam, cloth, leather, vinyl, PP, ABS, metallic structures or electronic components).
• CATIA V5/3DX or NX for 3D/2D model review.
• PLM (Teamcenter) documentation and release management.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Experience with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers would be advantageous.
• Intermediate-advanced English for technical communication.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Interiors Design & Release Engineer to join our team. As an Interiors Design & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of interior components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of interior systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes.

The area we are seeking currently to cover is Seats components.

Requirements

• TheInteriors D&R Engineeris responsible for the component and system level design, development, validation, timing and production release of the following areas:
• Seats components.
• Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive components for Seats.
  • Experience on complete seat, trim covers, foams, headrest and armrest.
  • Experience with materials such as: foam, cloth, leather, vinyl, PP, ABS, metallic structures or electronic components.
  • CATIA V5/3DX or NX (for 3D/2D model review).
  • PLM (Teamcenter) (documentation and release management).
• Knowledge:
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Manufacturing processes (injection molding, thermoforming, plastic welding, etc.).
  • PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheets management.
• Language: Intermediate-advanced English (technical comprehension and international team communication).
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
  • Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation.
  • In-plant experience (tool tryouts, assembly, program launch).
  • Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
