Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Cockpit components including Instrument Panel, Console, and Doors. You will drive design, validation, and production release while coordinating with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and timing goals.

The role requires strong CAD skills, DFMEA experience, and knowledge of interior systems, with collaboration across engineering teams to deliver robust automotive interior designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years in design/development for interior systems, instrument panel, console and doors.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and development of Instrument Panel components through production release.
• Collaborate with Instrument Panel, Console, and Doors suppliers on manufacturability, cost and standards.
• Provide technical leadership to resolve design issues and material selection challenges.
• Develop validation and testing strategies for components, vehicle and durability testing.
• Lead DFMEA risk assessment to ensure design robustness.
• Generate and manage system and sub-system specifications and documentation.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, testing and vehicle integration teams for seamless integration.
