Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks an Interior Alerts Design and Release Engineer (DRE) to lead component and system design for Client production vehicles, overseeing packaging, software/hardware development, DVPR, and release processes. You will drive DRE activities from concept through vehicle launch, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The role emphasizes robustness in system integration, DFMEA/DVP&R, and root-cause analysis, with on-site regional support and collaboration across CAD/ECU

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• Mechatronic component design and release experience; alerting experience preferred.
• Understanding of components and physical integration in vehicle.
• Experience with global project management and leading cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as TeamCenter Vis, NX, CATIA or SolidWorks.
• Experience designing and operating electrical test benches for software integration.
• Prefer candidates with LIN/CAN network communications.
• Prefer calibration and diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, INCA, Witech, CDA.
• Demonstrated experience with Reactive Problem-Solving Tools.
• Familiarity with Client systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to meet Client specifications.
• Ensure systems comply with quality, performance, timing, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with advanced team to define and package system designs prior to sourcing.
• Serve as regional on-site support for Interior Alerting.
• Develop and maintain boundary diagrams, interface matrices, and DFMEA/DVP&R.
• Support system integration and function with ECUs and networks.
• Perform benchmarking, competitive analysis, and investigations on new technology.
• Support warranty initiatives with technical specifications and evaluations.
• Address part variation and failure modes to improve customer satisfaction.
• Interface with EE systems engineering on VF specs and RAR.
• Review and approve software/hardware releases including CVVRs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance through coordination with suppliers.
