Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations during a period of growth and process development. This remote-eligible role prefers a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco and availability during Pacific Time business hours.

The position involves close collaboration with finance leadership, month-end close activities, and process improvements in a high-growth tech environment. Duration is approximately three months.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP or cloud-based accounting systems in a high-growth environment.
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with day-to-day transactional and operational accounting activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Support financial reporting, account analysis, and other recurring accounting deliverables.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and help resolve outstanding or historical issues.
• Partner with finance leadership and external stakeholders to complete deliverables on schedule.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency.
• Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as business needs evolve.

Our client, a high-growth technology company, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations during a period of continued growth and process development.

This role is remote-eligible, though a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco and availability during Pacific Time business hours are highly preferred. This role has an anticipated duration of approximately three months.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with day-to-day transactional and operational accounting activities
• Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Support financial reporting, account analysis, and other recurring accounting deliverables
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and help resolve outstanding or historical issues
• Partner with finance leadership and external stakeholders to complete deliverables on schedule
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency
• Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as business needs evolve

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience

• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to process improvements; CPA or public accounting experience is a plus

• Licensure and certifications;
