This broad, hands-on role involves leading complex commercial transactions, advising senior stakeholders across R&D and technical teams, and supporting strategic partnerships and IP licensing.

The position is Cambridge, hybrid with office days, initially 6 months, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' PQE or equivalent experience.
• Strong in-house commercial contracts experience.
• Proven track record of handling complex, high-value transactions.
• Excellent management of senior stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset with ability to balance risk and commercial objectives.
• Experience in technology, science, IP or R&D heavy environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex and high-value commercial transactions from negotiation through to completion.
• Advise senior stakeholders across R&D and technical functions.
• Support partnerships, IP licensing, and customer/supplier contracts.
• Provide pragmatic advice balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Support strategic legal/compliance projects as the business scales internationally.
• Autonomously own matters and challenge senior stakeholders where appropriate.
