Job summary

Ledgent-Finance- is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer for a large nonprofit Community Action Agency managing multiple grant programs in Connecticut. The CFO will partner with the CEO, Board, and senior management to ensure fiscal sustainability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include strategic financial leadership, rolling 13-week cash forecasts, grant management for AmeriCorps and other programs, annual budgeting, audits, and board reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in nonprofit/Grant management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership for a large nonprofit with multiple grant programs.
• Develop and maintain 13-week rolling cash flow forecast for executive leadership and OPM.
• Oversee compliance for federal, state, and private grants and AmeriCorps programs.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting across programs and funding sources.
• Present monthly financials, cash flow analyses, and budget performance to the Board.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, investments, debt, and financial planning.
• Direct annual audits, Single Audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
