Job description

North London | Hybrid - 2 days in the office
6-month FTC initially, with the chance to extend | Full-time or 4 days per week 35-hour week with early Friday finishes

We are working with a well-established London charity to recruit an experienced ER Change Manager for an initial six-month period, with the chance to extend.

This is a key role supporting the organisation through a period of significant change and restructuring. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on employee relations and change experience who is confident managing restructuring and redundancy programmes from start to finish.

Working closely with senior stakeholders and managers across the organisation, you will provide practical, commercially minded advice while ensuring all change activity is handled fairly, consistently and in line with current UK employment law.

The role will include:
  • Taking ownership of restructures, redundancies, contractual changes and wider people change activity

  • Supporting the development of business cases and providing ER input throughout

  • Leading consultation processes from planning through to completion

  • Advising managers and senior stakeholders on UK employment law and best practice

  • Identifying potential legal and employee relations risks and ensuring these are appropriately managed or escalated

  • Supporting and challenging stakeholders where necessary

  • Managing any ER issues arising from restructuring and change programmes

  • Ensuring change processes are well documented, legally compliant and sensitively handled

We are looking for:
  • Strong previous experience in an ER/change-focused role

  • Demonstrable experience of managing restructures and redundancy programmes

  • Experience supporting and developing business cases for organisational change

  • Excellent working knowledge of current UK employment law

  • Confidence advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels

  • A pragmatic, calm and solutions-focused approach

  • Multi-site experience would be beneficial

  • Experience within a unionised environment would be an advantage

  • Availability to start at relatively short notice

  • Must be able to commute to North London for the two office-based days each week

Hours & working pattern

The full-time working week is 35 hours, with hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and an early finish every Friday:

  • 1pm finish during the winter months

  • 3pm finish during the summer months

This is a six-month role initially, with the chance to extend, paying £53,800 per annum. The role is hybrid with two days per week based in the North London office, so candidates must be able to commute to the office on these days.

The organisation is also open to considering four days per week for the right person.
