Colorado Community Church is seeking an Interim Director of Kids Ministry to lead the Kids Ministry Department from Birth through 5th grade within the Family Life Zone. This part-time, temporary role requires a Christ-centered leader who can guide staff and volunteers, execute the ministry plan, and care for children and families.

The position reports to the Family Life Zone Director and includes weekend service involvement.

Qualifications

• Seminary degree preferred but equivalent ministry experience is acceptable.
• Strong leadership and teaching abilities in a Christ-centered environment.
• Experience mentoring volunteers and leading teams in a church setting.

Responsabilités

• Provide interim department leadership and resources for an effective Kids Ministry to support the Ministry Plan.
• Help execute the annual ministry plan within the budget and onboard the new Kids Ministry Director.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure weekend programming and core activities are carried out with excellence.
• Recruit, train, lead and shepherd volunteers across adults, youth, and children.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee Kids Ministry programming with a focus on weekend services and family events.
• Provide general care to kids and families in the ministry.
• Schedule weekend services and participate in meetings as determined.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Interim Director of Kids Ministry leads the Kids Ministry Department within the Family Life Zone. This position oversees all ministries for children from Birth through 5th grade. This person must love kids and have a passion to see children give their hearts and lives to Jesus and grow to be more like Him. This position reports to the Family Life Zone Director. This is a temporary, part-time (25 hours/week), non-exempt (hourly), department leader position without benefits.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Interim Department Leadership:
  
  
  
  • Provide leadership and resources for an effective and contagious Christ-centered Kids Ministry in order to accomplish the overall Ministry Plan of Colorado Community Church.
  
  
  • In coordination with the Associate Pastor (Internal Ministries) and Family Life Zone Director, help execute the annual ministry plan for the Kids Ministry Department while operating within the confines of the annual budget.
  
  
  • Help onboard and acclimate the new Kids Ministry Director once hired.
  
  
  
  


• Kids Ministry Staff Collaboration:


• Collaborate with Kids Ministry Department staff to ensure weekend programming and core activities are carried out with excellence.


• Kids Ministry Volunteer Coordination:
  
  
  
  • In coordination with the Family Life Zone Director, Kids Ministry staff and the interim volunteer leadership team, recruit, train, lead and shepherd volunteers (e.g. teachers, storytellers, musicians, etc. composed of adults, youth and 4th or 5th grade kids)
  
  
  
  


• Program Development:
  
  
  
  • With assistance from the Family Life Zone Director, plan, coordinate and oversee Kids Ministry programming with a specific focus on weekend services and key family events.
  
  
  • Equip and resource parents in their roles as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.

  • Provide general care to the kids and families associated with our Kids Ministry.
  
  
  
  


• Work Schedule & Meetings:
  
  
  
  • Schedule: Regularly work weekend services on Saturday/Sunday with other hours to be determined based on availability and department needs.
  
  
  • Meetings: To be determined by Associate Pastor (Internal Ministries) and Family Life Zone Director.

  • Unquestionable integrity specifically in areas of handling finances, relationships and time management.
  
  
  • A person who understands and models the Christian principle of servant‑leadership. Someone who is eager, flexible and has a teachable spirit.

  • Seminary degree preferred but equivalent ministry experience is acceptable.
  
  
  • Solid computer skills with MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
  
  
  • Willing to learn and effectively utilize the church database system.
