Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Counsel to support its legal department in Washington, DC. The role handles commercial and general corporate matters and partners with internal business teams.

You will draft, review, and negotiate contracts, provide practical guidance, and assist with corporate compliance, IP, privacy, employment, technology, and governance. JD with bar membership and 7+ years in-house or at a firm required.

• JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Duration: Interim with potential for longer-term consideration

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Counsel to provide support to its legal department. This position will handle a variety of commercial and general corporate legal matters and partner closely with internal business teams.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide practical legal guidance to internal business stakeholders.
• Assist with general corporate, compliance, and risk management matters.
• Support trademark, copyright, licensing, and other intellectual property matters.
• Provide support on various legal matters as needed, including privacy, employment, technology, and corporate governance.

Qualifications:

• JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of legal experience in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
• Strong commercial contracting experience required.
• Broad corporate/general business law experience.
• Trademark/IP experience preferred.
• Prior in-house experience preferred.

Pay Rate: $80-$100/hour
