Job summary

Consumer Products Co. is seeking an Interim Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations during a systems transformation. The role is on-site in the San Francisco East Bay for ~12 months.

You will oversee close activities, GL, and policy improvements while coordinating with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate reporting and compliant controls throughout the ERP rollout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience at Assistant Controller level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP implementations and inventory-intensive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Provide leadership across operational accounting areas: order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, payroll, inventory, fixed assets.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and reporting requirements.
• Support internal and external audits; maintain audit-ready processes.
• Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, close procedures, and documentation.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and others to resolve issues.
• Support ERP implementation through design, testing, documentation, and adoption.
• Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reporting quality, data accuracy, and efficiency.
• Provide coaching and escalation support to accounting team members.
