Managing Director - Vaco Accounting and Finance

We are seeking an experienced, Director-level Interim Controller to lead the accounting function for a private equity-backed portfolio company in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This role will provide immediate leadership during a transitional period, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and perform account reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and corporate policies.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Partner with senior leadership on cash flow management and strategic initiatives.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Identify and implement process improvements and accounting best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Controller or Director-level accounting leader.
• Strong ERP system proficiency.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Industrials sector experience.
