Job summary

UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group is seeking an Interim Controller for a UHY client in California. The role requires CPA, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, and manufacturing background, with cannabis manufacturing highly preferred.

This is an onsite position overseeing general ledger, close processes, inventory and cost accounting, and financial reporting. You will partner with operations and leadership to provide financial guidance, support internal controls and audits, and

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Review and analyze inventory balances, product costs, variances, and related financial data.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and support cleanup as needed.
• Provide financial guidance to leadership and communicate key accounting findings.
• Support audit activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial information.

A great UHY Client is seeking an Interim Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, 10+ years of accounting experience, and manufacturing experience.

The Interim Controller position is an onsite position.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost accounting activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Review and analyze inventory balances, product costs, variances, and related financial data.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and support accounting cleanup as needed.
• Provide financial guidance to leadership and communicate key accounting and operational findings.
• Support audit activities and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.
• Work closely with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial information and effective accounting processes.
• CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility.
• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Cannabis manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Hands-on experience analyzing inventory, product costs, and manufacturing variances.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and quickly assess and address accounting needs in an interim environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
