Job summary

Vaco in North Carolina is seeking an Interim Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day payables in a fast-paced environment onsite in the Triad Area.

You will process high-volume invoices, perform 3-way matching, liaise with vendors, support weekly payments, reconcile statements, and assist month-end close, with a strong eye for detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems and full-cycle AP processes.

Interim Accounts Payable Specialist

Onsite | Triad Area, NC

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will support day-to-day payables operations in a fast-paced environment, managing high-volume processing, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with internal teams and vendors to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process high-volume invoices with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform 3-way matching (PO, invoice, receipt) and resolve discrepancies independently
• Communicate with vendors to research and resolve billing issues
• Support weekly payment runs (check, ACH, wire) and ensure proper approvals
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain clean, up-to-date accounts
• Assist with month-end close activities related to AP
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure timely follow-up on open items

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
• Strong understanding of full-cycle AP processes
• Experience working in an ERP system (any major platform; able to learn quickly)
• Proficiency in Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with the team
