Job summary

Air Methods in Omaha, NE seeks a Patient Transfer Coordinator to manage and coordinate all steps of transferring patients between facilities, from intake to completion.

You will communicate with referring and receiving hospitals, document all communications for real-time data, and arrange ground or air transportation as required.

Candidates should have strong customer service, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to stay calm in high-stress situations; typing speed 30 wpm is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2–5 years related experience or equivalent
• 2–5 years customer service experience preferred
• Strong understanding of emergent and non-emergent situations and ability to react appropriately and professionally
• Ability to use multiple phone line system to contact appropriate parties during transfers
• Ability to stay professional in high stress situations and follow protocols
• Typing speed of 30 wpm

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transfers from intake to completion
• Represent partner hospitals and maintain referral relationships with outlying facilities
• Document all communications for real-time data creation
• Clearly communicate and expedite ground and air transportation requests
