Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking an Engineer/Project Manager in Transmission Interconnections Planning to support interconnection requests and help procure up to 4,000 MW of renewable resources by 2035. You will coordinate with Georgia Power, Southern Company Services and ITS Participants to address Transmission Service and Generator Interconnection requests in line with FERC and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Four‑year engineering degree required; Electrical preferred.
• Experience with planning, design, operation, and maintenance for substations and transmission lines.

Responsibilities

• Define project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for transmission planning efforts.
• Prepare BCAs for facility upgrades with input from multiple groups.
• Coordinate budgeting with Accounting for interconnection upgrade costs.
• Develop interconnection agreements per FERC guidelines and company standards.
• Maintain documentation and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
