Job summary

Sol Systems is seeking an Interconnection Engineer to manage solar, storage, and hybrid project interconnections through RTO and utility processes. You will lead technical work, coordinate with utilities and external consultants, and guide projects from inception to completion.

Hybrid role based in Washington, DC, with a strong growth trajectory in a rapidly expanding renewable portfolio. The role reports to the VP, Transmission Strategy and offers opportunities to influence strategic direction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE license preferred.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience after graduation.
• Experience with North American wholesale electricity markets or RTOs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver utility-scale generation projects through the interconnection process.
• Manage interconnection queue positions and prepare applications and modelling packages.
• Coordinate with utilities and RTOs to satisfy interconnection requirements.
• Lead interconnection negotiations and drive projects through the process.
• Support M&A by evaluating interconnection reports and associated studies.
• Oversee interconnection packages including single-line diagrams and models.
• Review study results and cost estimates to find cost/schedule reductions.
• Represent Sol in stakeholder meetings and industry committees.
• Conduct market intelligence analysis.
