Job summary

Urban Grid is seeking an experienced Interconnection Engineer to lead the interconnection aspects of solar and storage project development. You will establish interconnection queue positions, guide projects through the process, and serve as the SME between the RTO/ISO, transmission owners and internal teams.

The role requires a BS EE, strong communication, and at least 3 years in the electric utility space. This hybrid Houston-based position offers a competitive package with a bonus.

Qualifications

• BS EE required for role.
• Minimum of 3 years in electric utility industry preferred.
• FERC OATT familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead interconnection applications for markets (PJM, MISO, SPP, SERC) including documentation and constraints.
• Manage interconnection study process and communicate results to leadership.
• Develop interconnection strategy aligned with company goals.
• Monitor interconnection queue and participate in stakeholder processes affecting project pipelines.
• Collaborate with Transmission team on network upgrades and congestion.
• Serve as SME for interconnection processes in assigned regions.
• Negotiate interconnection agreements and evaluate Facilities Interconnection Requirements.
