Job summary

Intersect is seeking an experienced Interconnection Strategy Engineer to own and execute interconnection for generation and large load projects, with a focus on ERCOT. You'll provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, driving technically sound and executable interconnection solutions.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering rigor, system planning, and cross-functional partnership, influencing design, risk, cost certainty, and schedule confidence from development

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in interconnection studies and transmission planning.
• Experience with ERCOT interconnections and IBR modeling.
• Strong knowledge of FERC, NERC, and ISO/RTO interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end generator and large load interconnection processes from early development through COD, with schedule, risk, and outcomes ownership.
• Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term interconnection strategies aligned with development roadmap.
• Identify and evaluate interconnection options, constraints, and mitigation strategies for siting and portfolio optimization.
• Serve as primary contact with utilities, ERCOT, and relevant stakeholders for interconnection matters.
• Build relationships with transmission owners, system operators, and regulators to advance project objectives.
• Translate complex technical and regulatory issues into actionable guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
