Job description

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for an Integration Technician at our University Park, Illinois facility. This position conducts Acceptance Testing, including understanding system drawings, wiring AC/DC power, configuring systems, loading firmware, modifying IP addresses, and developing system test procedures. Provides first-line internal support for field service and commissioning activities, acting as a facilitator and team lead when needed, training and guiding others.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Test engineered systems to ensure they meet customer specifications and test regimes.
  2. Complete work according to current documentation and communicate updates to Systems Engineering.
  3. Prepare manuals and wiring diagrams related to system equipment.
  4. Support field Commissioning Engineers with technical support, parts, RMAs, and drawings.
  5. Participate in field visits and training programs.
  6. Perform software integration and testing.
  7. Assist Engineering with designing, documenting, and testing new products.
  8. Help with training and demonstrating systems.
  9. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology.
  • Effective communication skills in writing, in person, and via telephone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and ability to work directly with customers.
  • Availability for overtime, including nights and weekends.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a technical environment (e.g., telecoms, fire & gas, AV systems, electrical design/repair).
  • Experience with networks and IP equipment.
  • Knowledge of panel building and wiring techniques.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license.

Wage Range: $49,070 - $63,302
